On December 5th, 2020 via a virtual setting, Section C-7 will be hosting its second-ever ACT Conference.
Beginning in 2020, each Section in the nation was required to put on a quality youth Lodge Leadership training each year, called the Adapt, Collaborate, and Thrive Conference, or ACT Conference for short. Expected attendance requires at least 80% of elected Lodge Leadership (Lodge Executive Committee members), but of course, non-elected youth and adults are welcome to attend this day of training, too!
The ACT Conference will help lodges Adapt to face major challenges, Collaborate with their peers across the section, and eventually Thrive and become high performing. The leadership theory and pedagogical techniques employed in the course reflect the current best practices in teaching and learning as described in the appropriate literature.
This year, because of the nature and state of the current world, the Section Leadership Team had to make the difficult decision to host the ACT Conference online in a virtual setting.
Registration is now open here! The cost is $10, and the absolute HARD deadline for registering is November 22nd, 2020. Included with the $10 is all the mailing costs for participant materials, a special Section C-7 ACT Conference patch, and a surprise!
Due to the unforeseen circumstances and the ongoing pandemic in the world, the Section Leadership Team has made the difficult decision to host the 2020 Fall Council of Chiefs in a new VIRTUAL format.
We are extremely confident we will bring you the most engaging content possible while keeping you safe and in the comfort of your own home.
Be sure to join us on September 20th, 2020 from 9 am to 2 pm for one of the most action-packed FCOC yet! Included this year will be 2021 Conclave planning, competitions between lodges, announcements, trainings, and much, much more!
More information regarding registration to be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled to our Instagram, Facebook, and email!
Want to participate in an exciting national event this summer without leaving the comfort of your home? We encourage you to join Arrowmen from across the nation for Momentum Launch, a unique virtual event experience taking place August 4th-6th. On June 9th, 2020, Section C-7 announced the recipients of the R.D. Dunkin Leadership in Service Award.
This award is designed to recognize those within Section C-7 who go far beyond their immediate responsibilities as Arrowmen and by doing so have laid a path of excellence for other Arrowmen to follow. The award is named after R.D. From: Section Chief Joey Snella and Section Adviser Eugene Woehrle
Hello Section C-7 Membership,
After taking all of the information and recommendations that are available from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), state and local health departments, state and local governments, and the Boy Scouts of America, the Section Leadership Team has made the decision to CANCEL our annual Section Conclave scheduled for April 17-19, 2020 at Stronghold Camp & Retreat Center. Full reimbursements will be issued for anyone that has already signed-up and paid for Conclave via PayPal. Please allow 5-7 business days to see the refund in your accounts. If you elected to pay via your Lodge, please work directly with your Lodge Adviser on reimbursement for any payments that you have already made.
Ultimately, the safety and well-being of our Arrowmen and their families are our top priority. This is an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (commonly known as the coronavirus) through limiting any unnecessary contact and travel to public events. This decision was not made lightly and involved significant discussion amongst the Section Leadership over the past two weeks as the COVID-19 situation continued to evolve at an extremely rapid pace.
We do NOT plan to reschedule the 2020 Section Conclave and we are working on the impact this will have on the Section. We are planning to incorporate some aspects into online availability, utilizing NOAC, and adding to our Fall Council of Chiefs Meeting.
IMPORTANT Section Election Information:
- We will now be holding Section Elections, via Teleconference, on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
- All specific details will be sent directly to the Lodge Chiefs, Lodge Advisers, and Lodge Staff Advisers for dissemination to all of their Lodge memberships no later than April 1st.
- **Election Letters are NOW DUE by 12-Noon on Sunday, April 12th to Section Adviser Eugene Woehrle (firstname.lastname@example.org). This is to provide Arrowmen running for Section Office enough time to prepare for the adapted election process that will occur via teleconference.**
Additionally, R.D. Dunkin Leadership in Service Award nominations have been extended until 10:00 a.m. on April 18, 2020, as well. Please nominate our C-7 Arrowmen that are worthy of this honor. Nomination forms can be located HERE. R.D. Dunkin Award recognition will primarily take place at NOAC 2020 and Fall Council of Chiefs 2020.
The Section is also assessing its financial situation with the cancellation of Section Conclave and will notify the Lodge Chiefs, Lodge Advisers, and Lodge Staff Advisers of any Section needs moving forward.
This continues to be a very fluid situation and your patience is appreciated as we continue to adapt to these changes. Thank you!!!
Please direct any questions to both Section Chief Joey Snella and Section Adviser Eugene Woehrle (email@example.com). Thank you for your understanding.
Joey Snella, Section Chief
Eugene Woehrle, Section Adviser
